Description

Auto Boundary & Dimension is a productivity plugin for AutoCAD that automates several common drafting tasks into a single, easy-to-use panel.

• Auto Boundary: Select any combination of lines, arcs, polylines, and blocks. The tool calculates the enclosed regions and draws closed polylines around them automatically. You can filter by layer, set a minimum area to skip small regions, apply an inward or outward offset to the result, include objects inside blocks, and optionally delete the original objects after the boundaries are created. You can cancel the operation at any time by pressing ESC.
• Auto Dimension: Select objects and the tool automatically places linear dimensions along them. You can specify which layers to target and set the offset distance between the object and the dimension line. Blocks can be included in the selection.
• XRef Reload: Quickly reload a selected external reference (XRef) without going through the XRef Manager.
• Advanced Flatten (Z-Axis Tools): Check your drawing for objects that have non-zero Z values. The tool reports how many objects have Z problems, broken down by entity type and layer. You can then flatten all of them to Z=0 with one click. Works on the entire drawing or a manual selection only.
• Fix Islands (Hatch Tools): Sets the island detection style to "Normal" for all hatches in the drawing. Can be applied to model space only, or to all hatches including those inside nested blocks.

Supported Entity Types: Lines, Arcs, Circles, Polylines (2D and 3D), Block References.

Licensing: The plugin includes a 7-day free trial. After the trial, a Premium license can be purchased and activated directly from inside AutoCAD using the TTLICENSE command. An internet connection is required for license validation.

Trial Version Information

Auto Boundary & Dimension includes a free 7-day trial. The trial starts automatically the first time you load the plugin in AutoCAD. No registration, no credit card, and no account creation is required to begin the trial.

What is included in the trial:

All features of the plugin are fully available during the trial period. There are no feature restrictions. You can use Auto Boundary, Auto Dimension, XRef Reload, Advanced Flatten (Z-axis tools), and Fix Islands (hatch tools) without any limitations.

How the trial works:

When the plugin loads for the first time, it connects to our license server and registers your device. The server records the start date of your trial. On each subsequent startup, the plugin checks your remaining trial days with the server. The number of days remaining is displayed in the License Manager screen, which you can open at any time by typing TTLICENSE in the AutoCAD command line.

What happens when the trial expires:

After 7 days, the plugin will no longer open. When you type TT or AUTOBOUNDARY, a message will appear informing you that the trial has ended and prompting you to purchase a license. You can purchase a Premium license directly from the License Manager screen inside AutoCAD by clicking the "Buy License" button.

Activating a Premium license:

After purchasing a license from our store, you will receive a license key by email. Open the License Manager in AutoCAD (type TTLICENSE), paste your key into the input field, and click Activate. The plugin will verify your key and activate Premium status immediately.

Internet connection requirement:

An internet connection is required for the trial to work. The plugin connects to our license server on each startup to verify your trial status. If the server cannot be reached, the plugin will not open as a security measure.

Trial limitations summary:

• Duration: 7 days from first use
• Features: All features fully available
• Devices: One device per trial (tied to unique identifier)
• Extensions: Trial period cannot be extended

General Usage Instructions

Type TT or AUTOBOUNDARY in the AutoCAD command line to open the main panel.

• Auto Boundary tab: Set your options (offset, minimum area, layer filter, include blocks) and click "Create Boundary". Select the objects in the drawing when prompted.
• Auto Dimension tab: Enter target layer names (one per line), set offset, and click "Create Dimensions". Select the objects when prompted.
• Xref Reload tab: Click "Xref Reload" and select the XRef to reload.
• Advanced Flatten tab: Use "Check Z" to find elevation issues, then "Flatten Z (Z0)" to fix them.
• Fix Islands tab: Click "Set Normal (Model Space)" to fix all hatches in model space, or "Set Normal (All + Blocks)" to include nested blocks.

To manage your license, type TTLICENSE or AUTOBOUNDARYLICENSE.

Installation/Uninstallation

Installation: Extract the zip file and copy the DLL and its dependencies into a folder on your computer. In AutoCAD, type NETLOAD and browse to the DLL file. To load the plugin automatically on every startup, add the folder path to the Trusted Paths in AutoCAD Options and add the NETLOAD command to your startup script.

Uninstallation: Close AutoCAD. Delete the plugin folder. If you added it to your startup script, remove the NETLOAD line.

Known Issues

• The boundary tool works on lines, arcs, polylines, circles, and block references only. Text, dimensions, and hatches are ignored.
• Objects on frozen or locked layers are skipped during Z-axis flatten.
• Objects inside external references (XRefs) cannot be flattened because they are read-only.
